Parkour, also known as ‘free-running’, is a sport that involves navigating obstacles. You move from point A to point B by jumping, ramping and vaulting objects in your path. It is a fun, active sport that’s quickly gaining traction.

Some standard moves have been developed in the sport, like the “tic-tac”, the “kong vault” and the “gap jump”. Participants are known as traceurs and traceuses. They move through an environment, which is often a city street, by vaulting, rolling, jumping and climbing over everything in their path.

While parkour can look dangerous the sport discourages reckless and dangerous stunts. Participants try find a way of gracefully navigating the course and performing impressive looking tricks, all while keeping personal responsibility and safety in mind.
